Visit to the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 27th March 2013
The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford has doubled its exhibition space in recent years and we
enjoyed a highlights tour of the outstanding collections in March. The theme ‘Crossing
Cultures, Crossing Time’ made for an exciting visit, together with the new Egyptian galleries.
Two lectures arranged by the Programmes Secretary complemented our visit.
Many of us visited the city in the afternoon, taking in college gardens and the wonderful Old
Library at Trinity College. Others returned after lunch to re-visit their favourite exhibits and
explore other galleries and the delights of the shop.
